4th of July

We celebrated our country's birthday with a good ol' Minnesota boat parade around Little Pine Lake. The was boat decorated with flags and streamers, and we all showed our patriotism by singing our favorite national songs....Yankee Doodle, Grand Old Flag, America the Beautiful, you get the picture. We all had a great time and I have to say, this is the most patriotic I have ever felt over the 4Th of July. God bless America!

After the boat parade, we all gathered back at the cottage and made old fashioned homemade vanilla ice cream. No fancy electric appliances here....pure Fischback man/woman power.

Everyone took their turn cranking the handle of the ice cream maker. Rule is, if you don't take your turn to crank, then you don't get any ice cream....and this rule is not take lightly.

Here is Daddy and Parker enjoying a taste of grandma's homemade ice cream, YUM! What a spoiled little guy he is.

Little Pine Lake 2010

The three of us Fischbacks finally took our much needed family vacation to Little Pine Lake in Perham, Minnesota. We all stayed at Grandma Jan's lake cottage along with Michael's parents, brothers and sister-law Jana. Besides a little wind, the weather was gorgeous for all 12 days of our stay. We ate very well as always and enjoyed our lazy days filled with boating, suntanning, golfing, fishing, shopping, and chatting by the campfire. Parker had a great time exploring his new surroundings and loved playing on the sandy beach and being spoiled by his grandparents. I too was spoiled over the course of the week with extra hands and babysitters.

Mackenzie's Graduation

Life has been super busy these last few months! So much going on these days, I can't even remember the last time I added a posting. So, for all of you who are interested, you are in for a treat because I have a lot of catching up to do!

Going back a few weeks ago, Parker and I flew up to WA for Mackenzie's graduation. My little sister was graduating 3rd in her class and was giving the opening salutatorian speech (there was a tie for valedictorian) so this was a special day that I wouldn't dare miss. As most of you know, I have missed out on many things in my sister's life since I have always lived so far away for the last nine years...love you sis! Anyways, we all celebrated her accomplishments with a fabulous grad party that my parents put together.....yummy taco bar and all! It was great to see all my family and friends and it turned out to be a fun and rare sunny weekend. Congrats Mackenzie! Best wishes to your first year of college at EWU...Go Eagles!

Fun with the horses at the Baker's grad party

I even got to see Sierra during my trip!
